Future and ongoing activities


  • Workshops in Africa and other developing regions. The first ICFMH Workshop on “Food Safety in Africa” was conducted, with strong support from WAITRO (http://www.waitro.org/modules/news/) at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in December 2003.   • Small meetings with invited specialists, can be organised in response to pressing national and international issues, e.g. food safety / emerging food-borne pathogens / food biotechnology / risk analysis/ risk management.
  • Collaboration with FAO, WHO, UNESCO, WAITRO.
  • Future joint Workshops are envisaged with WHO/FAO on issues such as Food Safety Assurance and on Food Fermentation in Developing Countries.
